Thriving Ivory - Angels on the Moon
*When I first heard this song, I thought it was a chick singing. It’s not, but that’s okay, it’s a good jam anyway.
Listening to Coldplay’s Viva la Vida, especially the first two tracks, in my car elicits a certain emotion that I can’t pinpoint, but is slightly stirring.
Between 1927-1945 there were 65% of evangelical believers.
Between 1946-1964 there were 35% evangelical believers.
Between 1965-1983 there were 16% evangelical believers.
Between 1984-2009 and onward we are reaching a percentage of only 4% evangelical believers.
I don’t know about you, but this disturbs me to the core. This weekend I learned that people are no longer seeing church as a valid place to go. We have so many sin problems because we are not hiding the Word of God in our hearts. We have to ask God to bring revival to America and that place of re-awakening happens through our prayers. No one prays anymore. No one takes the time to make the sacrifice to fast and pray anymore, but it is in that place of sacrifice that God brings forth seeds.
Yet, we are so caught up in the lesser pleasures in life. CW, MTV, BET, the movie theater, clubs, drugs, debauchery, etc. We fill our appetites with the lesser pleasures and have less of an appetite for the greater pleasures, which are what God has for His children. Perhaps we can go out and enjoy ourselves everyone once awhile but I am hoping for a generation that spends twice the time on youtube, surfing the net, and playing video games on crying out day and night in prayer asking God to give us as youth a vision for out future. A vision that will save this generation and the ones to come. People are so blinded by the seriousness of this because they are satisfied by their own lives, and so much that whether they go to hell and heaven does not even matter to them anymore. So much that they will give up the holiness and purity of God to conform to this world and engage in mindless self-indulgences. Just to look cool, just to feel good, just to be apart of something earthly. If you want to live an eternal life after death you must attach yourself to the eternal God. Sadly, most of this country has not and will encounter a rude awakening if the don’t WAKE UP.
“People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn’t treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand.” -Romans 1:21-22, The Message

Ronald Jenkees - Disorganized Fun *This clip is. so unbelievable. It makes my heart so happy.*
Who is He who answers when I call?
Who is there in the time of need?
And when I get weak who gives me His strength?
Who else but God, who else but God
Who has power beyond what eyes can see?
Who orders the wind blow and rivers flow?
So great and mighty, yet still cares for me
Who else but God, who else but God
Now who is He who keeps my mind at ease?
And who gives me praise for heaviness?, and
For ashes, who gives beauty?
Who else but God, who else but God
Now who is He who always makes a way?
Who’s the one who never fails?
And in my trouble, who’s my present help?
Who else but God, who else but God
No one else can do the things You do
You are holy
That’s why I will always worship You
You are holy
Who is He who gives health to my flesh?
Who allows my eyes to see?
And who’ll be there when everyone else leaves?
Who else but God, who else but God
Now who’s the one who died on Calvary?
And on day three rose again
And by His blood I’ve been redeemed
Who else but God, who else but God
Anybody remember when they were like this? Come on, I know you’re dressed up tonight and you look good, but does anybody remember when they were sinking?
A lot of preachers are preaching, but sinking.
A lot of choir members are singing, and you think God sees you like this? He sees you like this!
Prophesying, sinking. Playing the organ, sinking. Playing the drums, sinking.
I’m the son of a pastor, so you know, I thought as long as I went to church, I was cool. As long as when I played the organ, it was anointed, that means I have a relationship. But the Bible says take heed lest you fall.
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore.
In church, very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more.
BUT!
That means it’s not over.
BUT!
That means it’s not the end.
BUT GOD.
God, oh my God, He’s been GOOD!
-Tye Tribbett
